ShashChess Chess Engine Is Not Stockfish Engine

I have been watching Chess Engine Development for a very long time. I am no software developer, but I am appalled by the hate against The ShashChess Engine! It is a respectable project, and I learn much from it. I think that the hate of it needs to be stopped by the people here.

I am not very active on Discord.com, but a while ago I enter the Stockfish Discord Server and ask about ShashChess Engine: there are many people, some of them established Stockfish Developers, who speak of ShashChess and its author with disdain and hostility! Some of them even attack me (of course, I may be over-reacting, but it is still a problem) ! The number of bad comments shock me! The Software code was first copied from Stockfish , yes, but what is so bad about this? I contacted the Author Mr. Amchess, in a private message, and he told me openly that the engine was, QUOTE, derived from Stockfish chess engine. The Engine is still different! Stockfish is at latest version 17, but ShashChess released Version 37. I looked deeper at the GitHub Link: https://github.com/amchess/ShashChess/releases?page=9 and Mr. Amchess has worked on ShashChess Engine since 2018! Now I can even say it is a completely different offer than Stockfish Engine! I respect the Stockfish Authors, but their comments about ShashChess are completely wrong. I hope they stop saying false things about the Engine without thinking.

Hello Andrew,

I am a big fan of your work, but this is not a troll post. I don't attack anyone, and I am presenting my own view of the two Engines. If you can explain why I am wrong, I will gladly listen. These are my honest opinion.

Atilla the Hun would stick out as a friendly and reasonable person there. So what did you expect? No point to complain about it here, though; it just attract bullies like Andrew, who see it as their mission to drive people like amchess from the internet. One cannot cure savages by arguing.

Well, according to viewtopic.php?p=970549#p970549,

When asked by some of the passing researchers if their program was more like AlphaZero or more like Stockfish, one of the Sashchess guys immediately said "it IS Stockfish". It's not like they're making any misrepresentations here in that regard.

So only one of them is true right?

And just in case Shashin himself comes out and say this isn't even my theory, do not put bull crap under my name, what then?

What it is is not an opinion: both sources are public, and everyone can determine the exact difference and likenesses themselves. So it is basically irrelevant what people say about it; such statements only reveal peculiarities of the person making those, but cannot alter verifiable facts.
