My name is also missing from this listing of "real names". But I'm not particularly active here, so have no interest in receiving votes.

Like me, you won't be allowed to vote. I have been here right from the start of CCC, am a regular contributor, and lots of people have always known who I am - but I've been excluded on a technicality.
You were notified and given a two week grace period to update your real name. Several users did. You didn’t. Instead you waited for the two weeks plus two days and then updated. Knowing you this was probably deliberate to give yourself something to whine about and claim discrimination. Anyway, electoral rules are important and they’re not going to get bent on subjective grounds. Not even for you.

Stephen, I’ll take a look at the filters and get back to you. Most probably though (guessing) you didn’t pass the recent activity filter of a login during October?

It’s likely we won’t be using the nomination popularity parade process.

Fascinating. It could be argued that the "popularity parade process" is the key of democracy itself - but then, your idea certainly sounds interesting.

Possibly, in personality politics.
The nomination parade thing is incredibly shallow, it says zero about the candidates qualities and is a voting biaser on the basis of apparent peer group agreement and snowballing. Voters need knowledge of candidates in order to make rational choices and that means information. At a minimum a (non-self-doxing) CV. Anyway, Ed is preparing the concept document. Not sure if the FG is all agreed yet, but we’re getting there.

How else do you want to nominate the moderators ? I mean which or how shall these voters vote if they do not know who wants to run ????
