Komodo 5 MP

Don is a very honest man and under a lot of stress because of this delayed Komodo. You can be sure that he is working as hard as possible on it and that he'll make sure all users get satisfied eventually.

I think the question has been asked, but perhaps I missed the answer. When might those of us who purchased Komodo 5 anticipate the MP version to be available? It's been a while. Thanks.

I have been working on the rewrite and it plays chess, although still significantly weaker than komodo itself. I'm calling this version BeeKay for now but it will get renamed Komodo when it's worthy. BeeKay is "BK" which stands for Baby Komodo.

Several months ago Clemens Keck was testing a version that works much as described in the "Lazy MP" thread on the technical forum. It was a definite improvement of SP but not enough to make us very happy.

But I'm taking another look at it anyway since it has the virtue of major simplicity - this time inspired by some of the ideas posted on that thread. I'm pretty skeptical but I never say never.

If it turns out to be adequate, it would still take a while to bring BeeKay up to speed but not a ridiculous amount of time. No promises.
