Hi!

Here you have a 32 and 64 bit compile of Gopher Check:

http://www.andscacs.com/gopher_check/gopher_check.rar

32 bit is 295817 nps in my I7 920, and 64 bits is 402947 nps.

Thanks Daniel.
Does anybody have a rough idea of its strength?

Norbert and me had done some more serius test and we think this engine really does not work. May be his author will fix it.

Hello,

I tried it out with several free available GUIs in 5-min-matches, but without success on Windows 7 OS:

Arena
no moves were executed, configuration UCI-file shows no values at all- GopherCheck lost on time

ChessGUI
1 X-X-X-X 0 X-X-X-X gopher_check32 X-X-X-X BigLion X-X-X-X time X-X-X-X 20 X-X-X-X 0.00 X-X-X-X 0.00 X-X-X-X 08:10:51 on 31.12.2014 X-X-X-X 00:05:55 X-X-X-X B01 X-X-X-X 6k1/pp3ppp/2p1n3/4B3/5P2/7B/PPb2P1P/6K1 w - - 2 21 X-X-X-X Mieses-Kotroc Variation, Center Counter
PGN

Crafty Chess Interface

Lilia Chess

Mayura Chess Board

Scid vs. PC
no moves were executed, GopherCheck lost on time

You can find all these frontends on CCWiki "GUI Protocol List"
http://computer-chess.org/doku.php?id=c ... pport_list

José suggested Cutechess Command Line Interface, but after extraction CLI for win32 and a double mouse-click on the .exe-file - this applcation was suddenly closed - no text file could be inserted there.

Best wishes,
Norbert

Well, as you can see WinBoard complains it could not find Polyglot. So this has nothing to do with Gopher Check. In fact it says it cannot find the file polyglot-noini-ec. As this is not the name Polyglot is supposed to have, this isn't really surprising. It seems the spaces between "polyglot", "-noini" and "-ec" are missing from the command. I don't know how you invoked Polyglot (through ticking the UCI checkbox, specifying the option -fUCI or by explicitly tying the command), but depending on the case either you typed the wrong command, or your WinBoard is wrongly configured for the -adapterCommand.
