This might have been posted before, but I noticed there is now a new Installer for Stockfish Fishtest for windows:

It looks like a nice user-friendly way to make it easier for people to setup their machines to contribute cores for SF development.
Spread the word!

Re: Windows Fishtest Installer for Stockfish
On the Stockfish Fishtest forum, the creator of the installer was asking if anyone had a better icon.
This is what I am using, the 3-eyed nuclear mutated fish from The Simpsons, which seems appropriate!
Here is a download, formated as a 128x128 ICO file. Feel free to pass it along over there, if acceptable.

Thanks for mentioning it here. I am the creator and was going to introduce the installer here soon.
Thanks for the icon but I think it looks a bit scary. I found a nice one on the webpage and am going to update the installer with the new icon soon.

The Installer works perfect, you did a great job. I'm sure it will boost the amount of people donating time for Fishtest.
I already had Fishtest, but tried your installer, and it was MUCH simpler.
Now all we need is a graphical output, like SETI-at-Home.....While not necessary, the satisfaction of seeing a live update of the work done with some stats would be very appealing to many people. Not complaining about Fishtest in any way, just a wish for someday, and I think with something like that, they could get thousands of people contributing.

I'm glad it works fine for you.
Yeah one could probably attract a lot more people with more ranking, scoring and other fancy stuff but I think that's not a priority to the devs.
They are all busy finding some improvement for the engine.

Does this work for Windows XP? I see 0 machine using Windows XP and when I install fishtest and I execute it, I get "searching for worker.py" and I have no such a file in my computer.

Re: Windows Fishtest Installer for Stockfish
Well I have not tested in on XP. Look in your installation directory whether you have a worker.py there. You can start it simply by doubleclicking.
It seems though that for WindowsXP fishtest downloads the wrong binaries, so it might be that it's not working for XP at the moment.
