PurpleRobe was a Toga clone by me to test an idea that I had. It was never meant for release. It was interesting that PurpleRobe scored over 90% against Glaurung 1.21! But, if I release PurpleRobe then I would have to release the source code and give the secret away before I had a chance to implement the new idea in my own program.

I thought that was our little secret, well it was obvious tho. You didnt change anything, so it looked and behaved like Toga except that it was a glaurung killer. As far as playing vs other engines, I say it did sub par compared to Toga.
But, if your name was Sir George then you would definitly want a Purple Robe! Don't worry you dragon lovers out there I have a feeling that Glaurung is going to get some sharper claws and teeth, quite soon!
