Rebel Freebies and Windows Me

I think Most people including myself are thankful for Ed Shroeders list of freebies, the only problem is that I can't get any of them to work other then rebel 6. I thought the reason it took so long for the Freebies to be available was that Ed was removing the copy protection however it appears that the protection is still there. I get a program abort when trying to start up century 1 as well as Rebel XP doss which asked for the CD rom, what's up with this? Iknow these are free and i don'thave any reason to complain but this all seems like sloppy work to me.
