Hiarcs and the fear factor.....

Post by Dr.Wael Deeb »

Hi,
In this thread I just want to express my point of view regarding this awesome engine by saying that the progress that is showing lately is simply scarey and I am strongly impressed from it's performance tournament after tournament 8-)
So even mentioning that Harvey has made something wrong in the last tournament is a total crap and I strongly opposite that 8-)

I agree ... I feel that if it were not for Rybka, then Hiarcs 11.1 would be 1st above all other engines. Zap!Chess, and Loop would be left to fight over the 2nd place spot. 8-)

Starting up a new thread to rehash an argument from another is not necessary Wael, but I do agree that Hiarcs is a fine engine.

I would ask members not to start arguing again over Harvey's actions in this thread.

Huh?
Are there new guidelines in this forum now? Did I miss something? Why is it forbidden to talk about Hiarcs in WCRCC? I don't see anything offending in Waels post. I did not read the latest updates in the other thread, and of course peronal attacks should not be allowed, but I find it unwise from the moderators to censor certain topics away. As long as they are according to the charter.

If we are not able to talk about this stuff here anymore, we have to find another place...

Of course you're allowed to talk about it.
The thread will be back soon.

If they don't violate the charter why not?

Your increased sense of peacefulness, leads you some times in wrong decisions. :D

Do you think that an operator should interfere with the program during an engine-engine game?
This would not be an engine-engine game anymore....
After his son's birth they've asked him:
"Is it a boy or girl?"
YES! He replied.....

To be honest, I felt that they'd be more in place in the original thread which has now been returned.

It seems you forgot Hydra and Fruit. They are also equally 2nd and Thorsten's results show that Fruit scored better than Hiarcs in some tests but I'm not sure.

It would be better if Hiarcs don't miss any official tournament events.
