new test book Balanced-12.ctg

Post by Mike S. »

Similar to it's predecessor Xmas2640-12.ctg, I have created the somewhat bigger Balanced-12.ctg opening book for the Fritz interface. It is a "neutral" book for tests with same book for all engines. Free download:

http://members.aon.at/computerschach/Balanced-12CTG.7z

(requires http://www.7-zip.org/ or a compatible decompression tool)

Again, it is max. 12 moves (24 plies) deep and is intended to provide more variety of different opening variations. I achieved that without move weights or tournament move settings, but by a step-by-step process when compiling the games database it's generated from. Elo average for 90% of it is 2640 Elo again.

10% are from high quality engine test games from CCRL and CEGT, as collected and edited by Norm Pollock (CCG), http://hoflink.com/~npollock/chess.html Thanks to all contributors who made these games available.

 Important: recommended book settings are "Normal" and "Minimum games = 3"

(for more details, see the readme.txt)
Regards, Mike
