CEGT - rating lists May 18th 2008

Post by Werner »

Hi all :-),

our updated rating lists are now online and can be found under the attached links.

40 / 120:
This week we made an update of our 40/120-Quad-list. All matches for the included engines are finished. Most engines now have 600 games.

Next week we will make more games for the 40/120 single/dual-list with Fritz 11 against Naum, Shredder and Hiarcs.

40 / 20:
This week we added more than 1400 games to our list. See more in our list "Games of the week". In total our 40/20 list is based now on 246.102 games! New in our list are Glaurung 2.1 w32 1CPU, Naum 3.1 w32 1CPU and Danasah 3.63.

New engines:
We started the matches with Naum 3.1 w32 1CPU. After 360 games we have exactly the same rating as for the version 3.0:

Code: Select all

46 Naum 3.0 w32 1CPU 2890 +15 -15 1140 games
47 Naum 3.1 w32 1CPU 2890 +25 -25 360 games
Glaurung 2.1 w32 1CPU reached 2789 elos after 445 games. This is 51 elo better than Glaurung 2.01 w32 1CPU - and the engine could not hold my start rating over 2800 :( . Allthough Tord was not pleased with my results in another forum I congrat again for + 51 Elo points!!
Next week we will test the much faster x64-version with 2CPUs.

We also started to test Danasah 3.63. After 50 games we cannot say much - but I think this engine has a good improvement over the older version.

Updated engines:
We have updated results for some engines we tested last week:

Code: Select all

33 Toga II 1.4.2JD 4CPU 2917 +35 -35 200 games (-21)
128 Thinker 5.1c x64 p 2770 +20 -20 778 games (-4)
40 / 4:
Our blitz-list was updated too. We made around 3360 new games and the list is based now on 311.267 games.

Some interesting entries are:

Naum 3.1 always stronger than 3.0 here:

Code: Select all

9 Naum 3.1 x64 4CPU 3009 33 33 200 games
12 Naum 3.0 x64 4CPU 2996 14 14 1450 games
23 Naum 3.1 x64 2CPU 2958 19 19 830 games
32 Naum 3.0 x64 2CPU 2945 11 11 2370 games
62 Naum 3.1 x64 1CPU 2894 19 19 800 games
71 Naum 3.0 x64 1CPU 2881 15 15 1150 games
79 Naum 3.1 w32 1CPU 2864 15 15 1428 games
88 Naum 3.0 w32 1CPU 2854 11 11 2670 games
One result to help Tord better sleeping:

Code: Select all

57 Glaurung 2.1 x64 2CPU 2903 +32 -32 250 games (just started)
84 Glaurung 2.01 x64 4CPU 2855 +39 -39 200 games ( :-)) )

Code: Select all

46 Toga II 1.4.2JD 4CPU 2921 +25 -25 450 games
65 Toga II 1.4.2JD 2CPU 2888 +20 -20 750 games
85 Toga II 1.4.2JD 1CPU 2854 +24 -24 500 games
A big „Thank you“ to all testers as usual! :)

What makes you guys think I want to sleep at all? I hate sleeping. It's an awful waste of time.

For the record: I am happy with all the CEGT results for Glaurung, of course. I initially expressed some disappointment with the results when Werner first posted them on the CSS forum, but that was only because I was confused and thought Werner was a CCRL tester, and therefore interpreted his rating estimate by the CCRL scale.

Hi Werner,

I was reading the "CEGT 40/4 Best Single Versions" list and I noticed some engines represented twice: Naum 3.1 x64 1CPU and Naum 3.0 x64 1CPU, Glaurung 2.01 w32 1CPU and Glaurung 2 epsilon/5 w32 1CPU, Frenzee Feb08 w32 and Frenzee 3.0.0, Cyrano 0.3 and Cyrano 0.2d, Rotor 0.2 and Rotor 0.1a (Found by naked eye, I don't know if there are any more). Would it be possible to remove the extra entries? Thanks for continuing efforts and nice rating list!

Tord
I need to find me another hobby then, I spend about eighty percent of my time sleeping, and the rest I use for goat loving..

Once you go goat, you never go back..

Too many engines, not enough Glaurung regards

Worried sleepless goat counting nights regards
