I would think it would be a big elo increase, nevertheless it will be interesting.

I have been very disappointed with the user friendliness of Hiarcs 14 (WITH all the updates).

Hiarcs 15 would need to be a completely different creation and overhaul, to convince me to try it out again.

I like to be able to set up any position and put it straight onto to infinite and watch its top few lines change and evaluate.
I like to be able to take back moves during a game, or to see how infinite would coninue, and to shut off infinite when i want and continue the same game, whether or not the time limit has past.
I never got any of this with hiarcs 14.
I also don't accept that it freezes or goes slow with the mouse, or that it slows down internet and other things.
I like to be able to change any time controls or levels, in the middle of a game.
Dream on?

The only use for DH15 would be to play computer chess tourneys. You can download SF for free for analysis and if you really want to spend money then buy K8.

Or if you want to have a chess program not much other people have.
I own a chess program nobody has (and they should be glad).

Honestly and this is my opinion I would just get the engine and use Chessbase for GUI. I think they are the defacto standard for fluidity in working with games although other GUI's have better features like Chess Assistant.

Exactly. It looks like the Hiarcs 14 UCI engine is priced at $79.95 USD which is far too high (for us Canadians that is over $100 dollars which is a disgusting price to be paying for a weaker engine especially). Komodo with the discount is $39.99 USD (that works out to half of the price compared to Mark's engine). Moreover, we all know which of the two engines is the better one in terms of strength and its support for high-core count machines.

I would expect that Mark will not get an over-abundance of sales, but to each his own.

I was wondering that too about the price and I am a USA'r. I would figure it would have to be $25 or so to thrive in the market place.
