I was just wondering why computer engines have to have opening books that are 12 to 20 moves long, but when two humans play chess, they are not allowed to have their opening books and play with an open book, and most of the time the weaker player will only remember up to 5 or 7 moves lines at the most. It would be nice to limit all these engines test to only 5 moves at the most and allow the engines to be creative, and maybe we humans can learn a few different variations from these super engines. Jereon said in TCEC that he will feed LCZro with 50 short different opening books with no more than 5 moves and see how LCZero and Stockfish can create new opening lines and variations for us humans.
