Is there such a program
I have a question. Is there any program that will show me the ECO codes. I have a pgn format debut book and need the ECO codes. Thank you in advance for the information.

I think one of Norm Pollock's tools can do this ? Or else pgn-extract, one or the other.

Hi all,
For Picochess v3 we use an ECO look-up table devised by Mario Lang and adapted by Dirk Mollmann.

The great free tool ocgdb has an option to set eco codes.
https://github.com/nguyenpham/ocgdb
It takes the ECO database from Arasan (https://github.com/jdart1/arasan-chess/ ... r/book/eco) one of the best.
You first have to convert to the db3 format and then back to the pgn format, but it is really fast.
To see the openings when browsing games I recommend the free programs Scid or BanksiaGui.
Banksia has a nice option to show the eco code and openings name as annotation when it arrives at the position.
Scid also has an option to set eco codes, but you first have to convert to the Scid format and then back to the pgn format.
