Code: Select all

How about this one >

Jim.
Jim, this installer and deinstaller looks absolutely perfect for me.
A strong tipp!

About your Stormphrax BMI2 compile.
BMI2 is not running for me, no UCI engine.
Others, like SSE3, SSE4 are working!

Hi Frank,
I made a mistake with the bmi2 compile. It was compiled with 'native' switch. On my old computer that was bmi2 but
on my new computer it is 'avx512'

I have updated the Proton download package. Same link.

Hi Jim,
I made some games with the avx512 compile (10 min + 5 sec). bitbit answers in millisec and did not win a game...
(Windows 11, cutechess GUI). The original avx2 compile works ok here.
1. d4 {book} Nf6 {book} 2. c4 {book} g6 {book} 3. g3 {book} Bg7 {book}
4. Bg2 {book} c5 {book} 5. d5 {+0.43/28 42s} O-O {+0.02/1 0.001s}
(I am glad you make this avx512 copiles of course!)
Thank you
Werner

Hi Werner,

I recompiled Bitbit again. Now it works correctly - maybe bad source first time.
I've added an avx2-Zen2 build.
Proton download package link has been updated. Download same proton link.

Frank Quisinsky wrote: Tue Feb 11, 2025 11:06 am Often not easy to understand all this?!

Example: In current ChessBase GUI updates old Microsoft Visual C++ redistributable installed, not in Chessbase software only. Examples are the last GUI updates for Fritz 19 (upd 18 with install errors) and ChessBase 17 and 18 GUI updates 34 and 07 (works).
Hi Frank,

on the same day update 34 and 35 of CB 17 were released, can you please post changelog.txt of update 35 here?
Maybe a big bug in 34 ?

Cheers

Hi,

yes I saw that.
In additional for F19 update 19.

Upd. before (18) are not correct working!
After installation (18) recognized to (17) and the update is offered again and again (same for a short time with CB updates). In addition the older runtime 6.0.25 are installed and create a bit a "runtime" chaos in OS.

The last updates for CB17 (35), CB18 (08) and F19 (19) are working for me without the errors.

Not looking deeper in Chessbase software, no time for it ... checking new software for a netroom (try out this and that) and so many network options by Microsoft are really ... questionable at the very least!

Code: Select all

Fritz 19.19
- Stop buddy if engine is switched off.
- Regression: Clear board in position setup.
- Fixed search for player with last name only ( not all found, 2CBH ).
- Don't always restart engine after click in notation.
- Fixed show 960-chess position number in game list.
- Fixed problems converting PGN to 2CBH.

Fritz 19.17 (published 2025-1-21)
- Fixed search for player with lower first letter and option "ignore colours" = false
- Fixed search for player with last name only ( not all found )

Code: Select all

CB 17.35 ( publiziert am: 11.2.2025 )
- Regression: Clear board in position setup.
- Fixed search for player with last name only ( not all found, 2CBH )
- Don't always restart engine after click in notation.
- Fixed show 960-chess position number in game list.
- Fixed problems converting PGN to 2CBH.

CB 17.33 ( publiziert am: 21.1.2025 )
- Fixed search for player with lower first letter and option "ignore colours" = false
- Fixed search for player with last name only ( not all found )

Code: Select all

CB 18.8 (published 2025-2-11)
- Regression: Clear board in position setup.
- Fixed search for player with last name only ( not all found, 2CBH ).
- Don't always restart engine after click in notation.
- Fixed show 960-chess position number in game list.
- Fixed problems converting PGN to 2CBH.

CB 18.6 (published 2025-1-21)
But changelog is for sure not complete.
So the reason that I never looking on it.

Best
Frank

That was an Ippolit/Ivanhoe clone wasn't it?
I've don't think I've ever seen any source code for it.

Hello,
sources are available for versions 2.3* only, AFAIK.
