Hi, I just got my hands on Fritz 11 and I'd like to get the game patched up, however the latest (June 3, 2009) patch is broken. I was wondering if anybody here has a copy of an older patch they could provide or point me towards. The reason for using Fritz 11 is that it's the last version to support tablebase search probing for 32-bit engines, and I have a few I'd like to play with. I have a much newer version for serious work/play, but this old version is also still rather useful.
I know for sure that the patches are on the ChessBase Magazine discs from that era, when they still included them; however it's pure luck whether any are available on eBay for purchase.

I've been through this as well! You might want to check this out:

As mentioned in the thread, there are some 3rd party releases that include an updated version of the Fritz 11 GUI (and of course, it's able to probe TBs for older .eng files). Here are some that are still available for sale and are really cheap:
Chip Schach 2.0

Fritz For Fun 6:

I found a working copy of gui11.msi from Jan 23, 2009, if you are still interested.vindasal wrote: ↑Fri Dec 05, 2025 6:54 pm Hi, I just got my hands on Fritz 11 and I'd like to get the game patched up, however the latest (June 3, 2009) patch is broken. Re: Looking for earlier Fritz 11 patches
I have original Deep Fritz 11 GUI with serial. It's working flawless, but I remember some update from 10 August 2010. I can't find it anymore, I have update only for Fritz 11 GUI, not for Deep Fritz 11. Not same DF11 and F11 GUI.

Re: Looking for earlier Fritz 11 patches
Hi, can you by chance tell me all exactly what's broken about the latest June 2009 patch? I have just retrieved a series of patches for Fritz 11, and I'm curious to see if they have any of the same problems. If not, then I can upload them somewhere. The patch dates are: April 2, 2008, May 27, 2008, September 30, 2008, and May 19, 2009. They come from the old ChessBase Magazine DVDs. ThanksJuan P. Fritz For Fun 6 is available here:
https://ww w.myabandonware.com/game/fritz-for-fun-6-wm9
And with it you are on 22 April 2010
You don't even need the serial key. It accepts the regular Fritz 11 key on the manual if you purchased it.

Re: Looking for earlier Fritz 11 patches
Thank you, but I already have a Fritz 11 installed unpatched so it would be more straightforward to just install the patches I have; just looking to see what all the issues are so I can confirm. If they're all busted, of course, I will give this a try. Don't know how easy it will be to keep all my settings/Fritz 11 engine with a different program.Dr.Ex wrote: ↑Tue Mar 10, 2026 7:10 pm Fritz For Fun 6 is available here:

Fritz for Fun 6 is not a different program. It's Fritz 11 (ChessProgram11) with a changed start screen...

Re: Looking for earlier Fritz 11 patches
but it almost certainly overwrites the registry entries that control the settings and replaces .ini files upon installation. I imagine I can re-compile everything, but who knows if the later patches added more entries that will disappear when replaced with their older counterparts.

Re: Looking for earlier Fritz 11 patches
You could simply back the ini. files up and copy them back after installation.
The only thing I care about is the Common Files\Chessbase\engines.uci directory and this does not get deleted with a new Installation. My settings are quickly reapplied after a new installation. I know them by heart.
