Rybka3 features and GUI's

Post by dr_zied_haddad »

Hi all,
i hesitate to buy Rybka3 not the engine but the GUI. In the ChessBase GUI they offer a new interesting feature: Montecarlo Analysis. Is this feature also present in Aquarium or ChessAssistant GUI's? I already have DF10, F10, DS11 etc sothat another ChessBase GUI doesn't seem interesting if the montecarlo analysis feature is present in Aquarium or ChessAssistant. For serious Chess Players, chess assistant is realy the best (regular updated databases, best quality databases etc.).

I also learned in one of the forums (forgot if it was here or rybka or hiarcs forum), that there will be 3 different UCI engines (default humanized etc) + 32 and 64 bit engines. Is it the same thing in all the GUI's?

The answers for these questions will help a lot to make my final decision.

It will also be in Aquarium. Just remember that it's Rybka 2.3.2a's randomizer, just faster, so don't get too excited about it.

Thanks for this answer. it conforts me in my decision. The only doubt is concerning Montecarlo analysis feature that's provided by the chessbase GUI. Is it only a CB feature or is it an engine implemented option? Will it be also available with aquarium?

It will be available with Aquarium. The feature comes with the engine, but it will be open UCI so people will be able to implement monte carlo on their engines.

Aquarium's implementation seems that will be a little slower than chessbase, but future weekly/monthly updates of Aquarium will match the speed and user requested features are going to be implemented.
