Play P2P Chess Online via Chronos
Implemented as an HLA/RTI application, the WinBoard Chronos Adapter is a network adapter that enables WinBoard or WinBoard-compatible chess GUIs to play or observe on-line chess games against each other via the Chronos peer-to-peer network. This essentially creates a Chess Federation that includes WinBoard compatible GUI programs like WinBoard or Ubi's ChessMaster series. The adapter acts as a chess engine to the WinBoard GUI application, but instead of formulating chess moves as an AI player, it forwards and receives moves to and from the Chronos RTI.
WinBoard Chronos Adapter is a proof-of-concept application created to explore the possibility of using RTI as a network engine for on-line peer-to-peer games.
