Hello group,
I suspect many of us want a new higher quality webboard.
Having said that what would be the best available webboard for our needs. What are the must have features we need? Obviously, the ability to create a playable chessboard in pgn format, emoticons....
If it is a matter of cost, perhaps we should consider a voluntary donation by members to acquire the software? Other suggestions are welcome.
Cordially,
Sean

Pretty sure this subject has been brought up several times already. A search might give you some answers as to why things are the way they are.

It seems a bit silly to buy software for a forum full of programmers. We could make anything we want. But what do we want?

Yeah, that's a good point and I never thought of it because I just think of everyone on here as just loving chess. It would be ridiculous as there are so numerous open source forum programs and some of the programmers could easily modify it to suit the chess community.hgm wrote:It seems a bit silly to buy software for a forum full of programmers. Honestly I do not see a problem with the forum we have now. I can post, reply, post positions, PGN's, send private messages, etc. What else could someone want?
