Rebel 11

Post by Ferdy »

Looking for something on some old boxes, I found my rebel 11 cd-rom. Intalled it and played with Gambit Tiger 1.0 (anti-human) at TC 5min + 15sec inc :).

I am still trying to figure out how to run rebel century-3.0 in this gui. According to cd-rom there is rebel-century 3.0.

So you had it crushed in the first game; second game no good, but you crushed it in the first game.

[d]rnbqk2r/1pp1bppp/3ppn2/p7/2PPP3/P2B1N2/1P1N1PPP/R1BQK2R b KQkq - 1 7

at move 7, this is already won for white

As was my suspicion, antihuman versions of engines are just weaker engine versions, nothing less, nothing more.

I never played in my life an antihuman version, as I always knew this is pretty much meaningless.

Only thing that matters is strength and good moves, contempt does not matter at all.

It seems to me also it avoids exchanges with some kind of positional margin given to human which is one good thing for anti-human play - keeping own materials.

not good when it keeps it into the own half of the board. :)

I bought every Rebel release except the first. I couldn't afford to buy every program, so I settled on the Rebel series. Those Rebels offered great value and I had a lot of fun. I sometimes wish I'd kept an old 486 with DOS 6.x, just so I could use my old, obsolete chess programs.

Thank God for D-Fend! Now it's back to the 90's any time I like! -->>
