Re: Drawish test position

Post by tpoppins »

This is from game 9 (Chessgames.com link) from that match. True, it ended in a draw, but the diagrammed position is anything but drawish:

Code: Select all

Analysis by Stockfish 040916 64 POPCNT:

17...Bxd5 18.Qxa7 Qc8 19.e4 fxe4 20.0-0 c5 21.fxe4 Nc6 22.Qb6 Bc4 23.Rxf6 Rxf6 24.Nc3 Rf7 25.b3 Be6 26.Rd1 Qb7 27.Qxb7 Rxb7 28.Bf1 Ra7 29.Kg2 Nd4 30.Na4 a5 31.Bd3 Rb7 32.Rf1 h6 33.Rf2 Bf7 34.Ba6 Ra7 35.Bf1 Be6 36.Bd3 Nc6 37.Nb6 Nb4 38.Bxb4 cxb4 39.Bc4 Bxc4 40.Nxc4 a4
  +- (3.70) Depth: 38/61 00:40:40 31116MN, tb=55510
(SF prefers 17...Bxe3 at d=8 through d=25 and from d=28 through d=35, all with evals in excess of +300 cp)

White is a whole rook up and his queen is only temporary out of action. I looked at this game in detail and posted some comments (along with SF's evals) on the game page linked above.

Still, I must thank you for bringing this game to my attention, Henk.
