Regarding asmfish:
The path separator of ; does not work for tablebase directories.
If you have a path with a semicolon in it, the engine simply halts.
My tablebase files are configured like this:
c:\chess\syzygy;J:\Syzygy;G:\Syzygy;
Does anyone know how to get hold of Lyudmil Antonov?

Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

Yes that solves it.
But CFish, Stockfish and the other Syzygy engines I use do not need this alteration.
Thanks.
Your suggestion was very helpful.

Why do you need the syzygy tablebases to be in 3 different folders?

Folder 1:lantonov wrote:Why do you need the syzygy tablebases to be in 3 different folders?
root c drive ssd only 250 GB, holds OS and other important stuff.
Only 3-4-5 files on that.
The six man files are on USB-3 thumb drives of 64 GB which won't quite hold it all on a single thumb drive.
At home, I have a 1 TB SSD and everything works fine there.
