Sting-sf-bh-5 (AI: intuition and scepticism)

Post by lech »

It is a very "long" step to get two very important and necessary and difficult to imagine properites of AI: "scepticism and intuition" (here based on my idea of Black Hole).

What means"scepticism and intuition" for AI?
Imagine that a plane is piloted by AI only and both engines go bad after starting.
A special prepared algorithm can receive some possibile chances in two hypothetical cases:
1) to return to airport - 40% chance, second case - 75% chance
2) to find any land - 30% chance in both cases
3) to land in the Hudson River - 20% chance in both cases
Without algorithms of scepticism (2nd case) and intuition (1st case) the machine in both the cases can choose only: to return to airport.

Interesting and thought provoking point. Not sure that the numbers presented prove that most AI techniques would have ruled out landing on the Hudson river though.
Human chess is partly about tactics and strategy, but mostly about memory

My work (my idea) is based on the "IQ" test: http://talkchess.com/forum3/viewtopic.p ... 40#p941510
I am using only selected positions, not all.
Where is my idea in code? You will find it by terms: TestPassivePlay and SpecialNullMove (file search.cpp).

Thank you for providing interesting ideas and sharing your code. I enjoy testing your work .
Taking ideas is not a vice, it is a virtue. We have another word for this. It is called learning.
But sharing ideas is an even greater virtue. We have another word for this. It is called teaching.

I guess it's a false alarm, but my antivirus really doesn't like the 32 bit compile of Sting Black Hole 5.

so to be clear, this is weaker SF designed specifically to solve a limited set of test positions?

This is the worst definition I've heard from anyone about anything.
