Hi,
I saw several times this term, but I don't understand it. Could someone put an image of this ?
I think its is something like blockade, but not sure.
Thanks

Re: Rammed pawn ?
It comes from a book called "Pawn Power" written by Hans Kmoch.
He had his own names for specific pawn formations, which he used in that book. A "rammed pawn" is a pawn that is blocked by an enemy pawn, but also cannot be taken anymore by an enemy pawn.
In this position, d5 is a rammed pawn.

Re: Rammed pawn ?
Hi,
Thanks for the info. I tried to read this book (in french) a long time ago. I stopped, as its very complex, too much convuloted perhaps.
I tri at this moment to improve my evaluation. I read this site : https://hxim.github.io/Stockfish-Evaluation-Guide/
that gives a detailed plan. I hesitate between having a simple evaluation, and one with a lot of parameters.
Future will say.
