You see at the bottom of the third pic, Rybka evaluates Nxh6 as unclear... perhaps that's when the engine score is an irrational number or square root of -2... :)

Seriously, though, evaluating as unclear rather than equal, needs a little something extra, doesn't it?

Could it be that its a move that Rybka does not understand!? :shock: Rybka not being able to see the out-come of playing move X :!: :? Stop the press ...

Hmm, unclear is Schola's perpetual state of being. I would put anything Schola evaluates to less than half a pawn as unclear (except for the exact value 0).

I wonder if that's all Rybka is doing - having anything close to 0 but not exactly 0 as unclear - perhaps +/- 10 centipawns?

Most likely, the evaluation and the monte carlo results disagree. ( Which happens in active, high mobility positions which one could consider as unclear)

The other possiblity, Rybka 3 being so strong, is that it is an infinity sign! :)
