When I open Arena, it says on the top that I have 0MB of available memory. Also, when I try to load a tournament, it says that I do not have enough memory. That cant be possibly right knowing that I have 6GB of RAM. Can someone help me?
Thanks in advance

Re: Is this an arena problem?
Hi Tony,
I remember that some versions of MSWIN
have problems with memories more than 4 GB.
I could possibly be right or wrong.

Yes, it is working fine so far. I can play the tournaments, but cant load the games using arena. I guess I should just open it in a notepad until I figure out the problem. Also Arena 1.1 isnt recognizing the hardware, it also thinks that I have windows NT.AdminX wrote:So tell me that this means you got your Dell and all is well!Tony Thomas wrote:When I open Arena, it says on the top that I have 0MB of available memory. Yes,as I wrote earlier,it's a memory addressing problem....It can't recognize the hardwareTony Thomas wrote:Yes, it is working fine so far. Anyway,in the worst case, you can install Windows XP 64x as a second operation system and use it to run your tournaments....
BTW,what is your operating system

Re: Is this an arena problem?
I have vista 64bits. Why would I want to downgrade? May be I should try downloading the recent beta version of Arena that was released after vista came around. Can you access the arena forum these days? I clicked on the link but nothing happend.Dr.Wael Deeb wrote:Yes,as I wrote earlier,it's a memory addressing problem....It can't recognize the hardwareTony Thomas wrote:Yes, it is working fine so far. Edit : I just tried Arena beta and it recognizes it correctly. So far, that is the only solution that I have found for my problem. Hopefully I wont kick myself for switching to the new version like I did last time.
2nd Edit: I am kicking myself already, few of the menu options of the new version of Arena is still in German even though I chose English as my language.

Why do you consider Windows XP 64x as a downgrade

It works perfectly and all your 32x programs will run smoothly....
You will be surprised how many 32x engines won't run on your current system running Windows vista....

Re: Is this an arena problem?
I finally have the new arena working OK. So far I havent found any engines that wont run under my computer. I did find one unusual problem, Rybka 2.2n runs out of time in 1min+1 sec time control. I never played with it in my other system, so I dont know if the problem is hardware related. I also read that Swami had problems with Rybka.Dr.Wael Deeb wrote:No,I can't access either....Tony Thomas wrote:I have vista 64bits. Why would I want to downgrade?
