Hello Clemens,

Very interesting tournament,i really like such tournaments-fast processor, top engines, slow time control

I wonder about ClusterToga,is that a private version or the same one which is available for downloading at WBEC ?

Btw,i am planing to run a similar tournament with top 10 engines, but the time control will be 24 hours per game, without books,no tablabeses, just pure chess !

Best,
Sedat

Hello Sedat

ClusterToga is (yet) a private engine based on Toga II 1.4beta5c. There is no engine code changed, but the paralell search is a totally different called YBWC (young brothers wait concept). It is a study project of Kai Himstedt at the university of Hamburg. It does verry well on longer timecontrols. Compared to original toga there is a plus of 50 ELO on quad and >70 ELO on octa. This engine is a special build(no uci-engine) which is able to use clusters. We made many tests with 3 octa nodes (=24 cores), and it is verry powerfull in such clusters.

Nice tournament !

Your next one is timecontrol 90min + 30sec / game ?
The pgn would be great for opening books
Even 60min + 30sec / game on your hardware would still lead to great books.

hoping for pgn,
Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.
