Re: What is wrong with Bright 0.4a2 under ChessGUI
Well I've just switched over to 0.4a2 and have two illegal moves in the first 20 games. I've sent details to Allard.

Re: What is wrong with Bright 0.4a2 under ChessGUI
And here are 6 more games with Bright 0.4a2 version, where Bright lost the last 4 games on time. Bright 0.4a2 does not know how to manage this time control game in 1 minutes with 1 sec increment.Spock wrote:Well I've just switched over to 0.4a2 and have two illegal moves in the first 20 games. You did not setup time correctly.

I really thought you would know better about Arena time management.
Authors who use Arena to time-tune their engines, are uninformed about Arena time management.
Delete ChessGUI from your computer and that should solve a multitude of problems.

You should NOT act so offensive, remember that Arena has been around for many years and your GUI is very useful and you made a lot of progress in such a short time

Matthias.
You should NOT act so offensive, remember that Arena has been around for many years and your GUI is very useful and you made a lot of progress in such a short time
Authors who use Arena to time-tune their engines, are simply uninformed about Arena time management.
I expected you to know that.
Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Re: What is wrong with Bright 0.4a2 under ChessGUI
Bizarre, In my first 900 games I had 899 good games and 1 game with an illegal move, which was the bug Matthias already pointed out. So I was really happy. Now in the next batch of games, I've had 4 illegal moves already. So it can be a really long time before you hit a rare bugSpock wrote:Well I've just switched over to 0.4a2 and have two illegal moves in the first 20 games. I've sent details to Allard.

that is no surprise, if you have switched to new version.
An unsuccessful bugfix can break things quite a bit.
Best,
