CCT 12 - New entrant

Post by Peter Skinner »

Thinker by Lance Perkins and Kermin Medina have entered.

CCT 12 Home Page

We are now inside 1 month to CCT 12.

Please give yourself time for registration and testing on FICS, also to give me time to get the account registered.

Thanks.

I was kicked out of Chapters because I moved all the Bibles to the fiction section.

Same as on ICC. No real difference.

I'd suggest that a requirement be an account set up, and having played at least a dozen games in the week prior to the event, to be sure we don't have the ever-present round 1 problems...

Winboard/Xboard.

It even has built in support for UCI engines. It is simple, and frankly gets the job done without any issues.

Here is the batch file I use for FICS when using Hiarcs:

REM -- Azkikr on FICS
:loop
"D:\Chess\Winboard\winboard.exe" -zp -ics -icshost freechess.org -icshelper timeseal.exe -keepAlive 30 -fd D:\Chess\Polyglot -fcp "polyglot Hiarcs1.ini" -zippyGameEnd="ga1\nga2\nga3\nga4\nga5\n" -icslogon Azkikr.ini
goto loop

Just copy that into notepad, edit the paths for your engine, and save as ktulu.bat

Or download this file. Unzip it, and edit the paths in the bat file, and you are done.

Hi Peter,

I really wonder whether this incredible low number of participants so far is a direct consequence of this Ippo/Robbo/Ivanhoe/Igorrit/Firebird/TobyTal/Tankist comrades nonsense. Somehow fun is gone, thanks to those comrades. (Well, the process might have started earlier because of maybe too strong open source stuff... there is no real competition anymore if it is so easy for so many to start with something 2800 or even 3000 Elo. Older engines had always some versions 0.x which started mostly even below 1800. Now every new engine seems to start in the 2800...)

Greets, Thomas
