Windows 7 and DOS

Post by jplchess »

Does anyone know hot to make DOS work with Windows 7?
I'd like to have Mephisto Genius 3 work on my new computer.
Thanks for any input,

My brother suggested that and it did not work. I am also on the forum for DosBox and nobody has gotten a solution yet.

Its sad , but the last option can be to set a FAT32 partition in your HD and have a bootable DOS disc. That way will be REAL DOS.

Howevr you will have to boot in DOS to run Genius.

Couldn't you boot DOS on a virtual machine, using VirtualBox?

I think you could try running it off a USB stick. I would be surprised though if you couldn't find a way to run it through Win 7. It is nice to be able to run older engines. I have a bunch of them still in floppies and even some on much older thin 5"+ disks. Those things will be worth something to someone one day.

These programs are now probably no longer legible. Which device? Also magnetic layer aging.
