Gaviota Eval Question

Post by mhalstern »

Miguel,

I am looking at a position in infinite analysis. For some iterations, gaviota reports +0.00, other iterations, the score is reported as -0.00. What is the difference?

The eval is rounded, so maybe in one case is actually +0.001 and the other -0.002. After rounding, the number is zero but it kept the sign.

Thanks,

You always reply to posts about gaviota quickly. Do you get some kind of notification when the word "gaviota" appears in a talkchess thread, or are your bored like me and look at the forums all day?

Well, obviously not always...

It depends how busy I am. The busier, the more I check CCC. Yeah, when my time is chopped in a thousands pieces, with boring meetings and that, I check CCC in between, 2 or 3 times a day. When I train people in the lab or I do experiments, I may not touch the computer in a couple of days.
