It just keeps rolling. Like an 18-wheeler going downhill gaining speed. I advise to just stay out of its way. Might be different if this version was even in the top 10 of IvanHoes- sadly it is not. (As I stated earlier, any discussion of RobboLito is a moot point now. It has merged with IvanHoe)

1CPU/32bit
128MB hash
Bases=NONE (Rybka used 3, 4, 5man Nalimov)
Ponder_Learning=OFF
Perfect 12.32 book w/12-move limit
40/3 Repeating
Match=75 games
IvanHoe B46e......+29/-13/=33
Rybka 4.1............+13/-29/=33
Though I had "Use Tablebases" unticked in setting up the engine-engine match, this did not seem to impress Rybka. She used them anyway.
I suppose I will have to go into the gui and remove the path.
Please excuse me, but before my sabbatical, I had seen Rybka beaten a few times. But I had never seen it toyed with like a cat does a mouse- THAT I am not used to seeing. Tough pill to swallow.
Again, match PGN's available from geotsp8@yahoo.com Anyone suffering from mild depression might consider not looking at these.

What version of Ivanhoe is that? The strongest Ivanhoe version I know of is a 49 or something like that. Usually Rybka results are very poor on slower hardware, but improve by quite a bit on bigger hardware. The only Ippo derivative to be able to beat Rybka 4.1 on big hardware that I have tested (which is maybe 4 months ago) is Houdini. Unless this is a very much changed Ivanhoe the results would surprise me.

With all due respect, the version "is what it is". If you look at the name, you know as much as I do. I WAS WRONG when above I stated this version was not in the top 10. Misha sent it to me, and corrected me on that. This version IS one of the "big dogs".
The problem with keeping up with them all is there are so many offshoots that it makes CM10 look like one version per release. Misha said if his back was to the wall- this "B46e" was the one he would want to have with him. But that is today. In one week- no way. They have begun an all out assault with IvanHoe only, as I stated.
Don't want to depress anyone, but trust me- as long as you put the top 5 IvanHoe versions at present ag. Rybka 4.1- at any time control, with any number of CPUs- and ANY HARDWARE........forget time controls and scaling. It is what it is. Rybka 4.1 will be destroyed. It is not up to me to convince you of that.
What I have decided on after trying a number of different "match lengths", is to settle on 50 game matches. Tho I want to test Houdini and Critter- you don't know how badly- I have settled on for a while trying to give you a match each day with Rybka 4.1 v what I think is a strong IvanHoe version. And for me, it is better to see how much each version is stronger than Rybka 4.1 and compare- rather than seeing how much each IvanHoe version may be weaker than Houdini and Critter and compare. That will come in due time.
You know me and you know I have no joy in posting results each day where Rybka loses. I love Vas like a brother. But it is right now at the exact strength that is perfect for these tests. Not too weak, and not too strong.
If it makes you feel any better, Vas and Rybka have some jaw dropping surprises coming. And the only hint I will give you: has nothing to do with clusters. But rather old-fashioned ass-kicking.
Remember thru all of these times- excluding Houdini here for a reason that has nothing to do with the "cleanness or lack of" of the engine- there are only 2 programmers right now who put the fear of God in the IvanHoe team. And they know they are headed their way- only question is how much time they have to prepare.
Number 1- Vas and Rybka
Number 2- Richard and Critter
Please above, see my match for the day.
Best my Friend,
george
