Yep, and this is at least to a certain extend the problem of my terrible pages. If someone volunteers to make something better for me ... Thx in advance! :-)

Me too. For some future projects I hope it will be in the TOP 20 in my list, which means 2673 right now - but that seems hard to achieve already :-(

Anyhow, I am crossing fingers!

hi Werner!

if you still believe that only the 4.80 is the best then look at this results i had maked here.

first engine of two 4.88 version is the SSE 4.2

Code: Select all

Games Completed = 1000 of 1000 (Avg game length = 34.068 sec)
Settings = Gauntlet/128MB/Book/15000ms+200ms/M 1000cp for 12 moves, D 250 moves/PGN:silver2.pgn(50)
Time = 6907 sec elapsed, 0 sec remaining
 1. Tornado 4.88 x64 621.5/1000	447-204-349 (L: m=83 t=0 i=0 a=121)	(D: r=269 i=54 f=22 s=4 a=0)	(tpm=261.5 d=13.1 nps=0)
 2. Tornado 4.88 x64 62.0/143	30-49-64 (L: m=15 t=0 i=0 a=34)	(D: r=52 i=10 f=2 s=0 a=0)	(tpm=258.1 d=12.6 nps=0)
 3. Tornado 4.87a x64 54.0/143	24-59-60 (L: m=18 t=1 i=0 a=40)	(D: r=51 i=9 f=0 s=0 a=0)	(tpm=255.9 d=11.9 nps=0)
 4. Tornado 4.86 x64 56.5/143	29-59-55 (L: m=27 t=1 i=0 a=31)	(D: r=45 i=10 f=0 s=0 a=0)	(tpm=282.2 d=13.5 nps=0)
 5. Tornado 4.85 x64 60.5/143	37-59-47 (L: m=18 t=1 i=0 a=40)	(D: r=38 i=7 f=2 s=0 a=0)	(tpm=272.4 d=13.6 nps=0)
 6. Tornado 4.82 x64 47.5/143	27-75-41 (L: m=27 t=1 i=0 a=47)	(D: r=31 i=9 f=1 s=0 a=0)	(tpm=260.6 d=14.1 nps=0)
 7. Tornado 4.80 x64 44.5/143	22-76-45 (L: m=40 t=2 i=0 a=34)	(D: r=27 i=6 f=11 s=1 a=0)	(tpm=263.0 d=14.6 nps=0)
 8. Tornado 4.4 x64 53.5/142	35-70-37 (L: m=34 t=0 i=0 a=36)	(D: r=25 i=3 f=6 s=3 a=0)	(tpm=320.9 d=16.8 nps=0)
after that i made a ELO calculation with ELOstat too.

starting ELO = 2800

Code: Select all

Program Elo + - Games Score Av.Op. Draws

  1 Tornado 4.88 x64 : 2847 19 19 857 63.1 % 2754 33.3 %
  2 Tornado 4.85 x64 : 2793 47 47 143 42.3 % 2847 32.9 %
  3 Tornado 4.86 x64 : 2773 45 45 143 39.5 % 2847 38.5 %
  4 Tornado 4.87a x64 : 2760 44 44 143 37.8 % 2847 42.0 %
  5 Tornado 4.4 x64 : 2760 50 51 142 37.7 % 2847 26.1 %
  6 Tornado 4.82 x64 : 2726 50 50 143 33.2 % 2847 28.7 %
  7 Tornado 4.80 x64 : 2709 49 50 143 31.1 % 2847 31.5 %

only sadly that ELOstat put all games of 4.88 together or Littleblitzer didnt make difference between SSE 4.2 and not.

That is the internal naming of the engine. The SSE version and the pure X64 version are identical for ALL GUIs and for ELostat as the internal name is identical. I had to manualy add the SSE42 in the Tornado.eng file for the Classic to have a difference there.

strange it is....

if you starting in console mode the name is displayed with "Tornado 4.88 x64 SSE42" and without SSE is "Tornado 4.88 x64" only

i dont understand that some GUI that not registered correctly.

maybe i should change next time that combined with the x64_SSE42 ?

Hi Engin,
congrats! Looks like a big jump! I will sure test this version too for CEGT.
best wishes

Hi Engin,
Both versions say "id name Tornado 4.88 x64" in response to the "uci" command. That's probably the problem.
