Except Zenmastur is playing with white and a draw is a poor result when the goal was to win.
He very well might win. But only if Black blunders. The opening is obviously a draw with correct play.
All opening moves are probably a draw (except for 1.g4!

). To conclude that the KGA is a draw based on him playing 3. ... d6 would be a mistake without further evidence. 3. ... d6 isn't exactly the most pressing line he could have played. He just couldn't play the other lines because his hardware wouldn't have been able to cope. The most pressing lines end up in wild complications which his hardware can't handle effectively.
zullil wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 11:41 pmIsn't that the point of the challenge? That Black, due to insufficient hardware and/or flawed methodology, will make a move that he considers correct but that is actually losing?
I agree.
zullil wrote: ↑Fri Mar 20, 2020 11:41 pmI mean, drewdrew playing Black using Stockfish with 400 threads isn't going to lose from here, no matter what Zenmastur plays.
True, but Drewdrew wouldn't have been limited to choosing 3. ... d6 to accommodate his hardware's inability to handle complexity. It's much more likely he would have chosen a line like 3. .. g5 inviting 4.h4 and all the complexities that comes with it. So, instead of obtaining a much superior position by playing 3. .. g5 and possible winning chances he's left with an opening that evaluated to 0.00 right after he made the move.
Had I played the Spanish as he wanted I would have been in no better position than I am now. The Mashall is well known and well analyzed as are several other variation that lead to 0.00 or no appreciable advantage for white.
So, Alayan, if you know an opening where white is guaranteed a win and a draw is considered a poor result why don't you tell us what it is? Then we can all have a good laugh!

Zenmastur
