Ah, OK. I am afraid I cannot help there, as I have never used CuteChess (neither CLI nor GUI). I suppose you can add engines hrouh editing some settings file. I wouldn't expect the setting of the hash size to be any different depending on the engine type. (But you probably would have to specify the engine type.) But perhaps CuteChess-CLI is more low-level than I expect.

So, in theory I can add it using a config file, and can pass the setting using the cli... but as this is the first time to do this for XBoard engines, I don't want to mess things up, and I'll use the GUI for that.. which is usually easier to do unfamiliar things with

And : every engines are bugfree compared to skipper

I think Henk should go commercial with Skipper, if it's consistently beating SF13 (in totally lost positions, assuming Skipper wins on time before getting checkmated), we may as well see a new #1

PS: I've re-tested killers yesterday (+30 Elo over Rustic Alpha 2 in 10s+0.1s), and I've now got a gauntlet running for PVS. The result should be in somewhere this night. It looks promising at this point.

Is there any chance I could still provide you with that binary, if it is indeed stronger than Rustic Alpha 2? (I assume it is, but I don't know by how much yet.)

(This binary would be version number 2.2.100. All my development versions have .100 and up in the last part of the version number.)

The first 8 moves are all book moves, the sequence doesn't make sense, but the end position is fun... I chose openings with somewhat unbalanced end evals.

Of course you could. The tournament hasn't started yet, this is just the test run. I probably will also change my binary with if i get king-safety right on time

Maybe, at some point, I'll be switching to Pohl's DrawKiller opening book, but before I do so, the engine has to have a better evaluation first. Right now, if the pieces are not right (i.e. in the position of where they'd be after a 'normal' opening), the engine wastes time shuffling the pieces to create a "proper" position.

It first has to have some more knowledge before I switch to a somewhat unbalanced opening book.

OK, thanks. In selfplay, the current dev version (Alpha 2 + Killers + PVS) was +40 over the previous dev version (Alpha 2 + Killers), which was +30 (in the gauntlet) over Alpha 2 itself.

I replaced the three weakest engines in the gauntlet with stronger engines, but the current dev version 2.2.100 is still at the top of the gauntlet at this time. If this holds for the next 3500 games, the Elo increase may be substantial.

I have a very bad experience with fast TC selfplay. I developed a version that outsmarted both latest dev and stable in super fast TC but tanked in slower ones. Even though all I had changed is the eval.

I switch back to slower time control with less games (1200 in total)
