I just finished a very long run of Dragon 2.5 vs SF14 in FRC at the CCRL blitz tc of 2' + 1". Dragon won the match by 253 wins to 251 losses, with 1256 draws! I expect that Dragon 2.5 will top SF14 in the CCRL FRC blitz list as I think it will outperform against weaker engines, although I could be wrong.
Komodo Dragon 2.5 released.

The main new feature is a major improvement to the Skill levels. There are now 35, up from 25, and they now considerlkaufman wrote: ↑Fri Sep 24, 2021 5:43 pmYou should have it now. We’ll upgrade you for free for these games with Santana, just send me a reminder when you see an announcement.

node count, depth, and eval randomizing in a much more logical, gradual way than in prior versions
You can use Skill to make Dragon weaker, to better match your playing strength. The default setting of 35 makes Dragon run at full strength. When Skill is set below 35, Dragon limits its search depth and modifies its evaluation for weaker play. Dragon should move almost instantly on all levels below 35, and the strength of its play should be independent of hardware speed (except at level 35), but thread count does affect strength on all levels.
I noticed that under the Skill Levels, is still only goes up to 25, it does not let me set it up to 35. Did I get the latest version by Email ?

Well, in the spirt of Spinal Tap, I think there should be a level 36 for when you need that little "extra umph"...Chessqueen wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 2:48 am

If the name includes "Dragon 2.5" the default skill level should be 35. I cannot imagine any possible way you could have a version with Dragon 2.5 in the name that defaults to Skill level 25. Please check everything again. Perhaps you got Dragon 2 again instead of Dragon 2.5 or installed the wrong version in your GUI?Chessqueen wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 2:48 amThe main new feature is a major improvement to the Skill levels. I checked everything and I did get Dragon 2 again instead of dragon 2.5, and when I reset it to defaults under the configuration it only goes up to Skill Level 25.lkaufman wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 3:28 amIf the name includes "Dragon 2.5" the default skill level should be 35. Re: Komodo Dragon 2.5 released.
Of late I have grown very partial to recent Stockfish engine output during analysis with the Win/Draw/Loss percentage (and the old traditional output along side it). It helps one not to be 'blinded' by the old +/= .65 type of output.
With Dragon 2.5, in Chessbase, would the output be similar or just the old traditional output?

Re: Komodo Dragon 2.5 released.
That feature in Chessbase appears to work only for Stockfish, not for Dragon. It's not something we even discussed. Perhaps we could implement it in the future, I don't know what is involved. Probably it would be something for a future ChessBase Dragon.Cornfed wrote: ↑Sat Sep 25, 2021 6:04 am Of late I have grown very partial to recent Stockfish engine output during analysis with the Win/Draw/Loss percentage (and the old traditional output along side it).
