Hi Pham,
Great program! Beautiful visuals as well.
One feature I would love (and perhaps it already exists and I don't know how to do it) would be to limit "Analysis on the Fly" to a certain depth (or move time) rather than just running indefinitely. In this case I want to just examine one move, not an entire game.
Thank you for all your hard work.
Best regards,
Hugh

Re: Banksia GUI released
Banksia getting better again but I have one request:
Testing version: 0.52 Linux.
When I run an On-the-fly-analysis and then stop the analysis at some time, the engine info with the latest score and pv is immediately cleared.
So it is not possible to have a look at some fixed analysis output with stopped engine.
Please delete the output only before running a new analysis. Thank you.
Regards, Andreas

When I first read your request, I was about to answer that you don't need a "Analysis on the fly to certain depth" feature but just can stop the analysis when the desired depth is reached. But then I realized that as soon as you stop it, the output window is cleaned (see my post before). So maybe we complain about the same thing.whelanh wrote: ↑Thu Oct 21, 2021 12:36 pm Hi Pham,

Hello,
i already notified this issue to Nguyen, it´s a pity to loss the window data after stopping the analyze, so he will consider.

Thank you Andreas. It is true you can stop the "analysis on the fly" manually, but it would be nice if one didn't have to do it manually. Stockfish UCI has a "go depth 40" or "go movetime xxxxxx" (milliseconds) UCI command. It would be nice to be able to use them via a gui.
Kind regards,
Hugh

Re: Banksia GUI released
Appreciates for your continual addition to this wonderful software of a GUI.
Just a couple of things. I find it a bit troublesome that I always have to update the current game in play once previous game has finished. I'm sure i saw a option to always switch to the present game in play some timo ago but i can't find it now.
Adjudication now work as intended. It is however only available for tournament games. I wish it can be available for single games in addition. Including same adjudication options for single games would be nice addition.
I've been little active the last few months due to much work lately. Just a couple of observations.

Hi Torom/Pham!Torom wrote: ↑Wed Oct 13, 2021 5:02 pm For reference, why I think polyglot moves should be played by weight:
Cfish implementation: https://github.com/syzygy1/Cfish/blob/m ... polybook.c
If I understand the C code correctly, the first move with the highest weight is played as the best move.
lichess-bot implementation: https://github.com/ShailChoksi/lichess- ... ot.py#L372
If "best_move" is set, reader.find() is used from python-chess. And reader.find() is defined like this:
https://python-chess.readthedocs.io/en/ ... eader.find
"Finds the main entry for the given position or Zobrist hash.
The main entry is the (first) entry with the highest weight.
By default, entries with weight 0 are excluded. This is a common way to delete entries from an opening book without compacting it."
How we can create PGN files with weights? Somebody is telling me that for tournaments I must use .PGN instead of .bin . It should be interesting to have custom BSG book openings optimized for white OR black and with different styles: solid, aggressive balanced, risky, human, with sacrifices...
I'm trying various .bin opening libraries on my SuperBlitz (Goi040121, Mustafa M13.4, SPCC drawkiller balanced) but with inconsistent results until now! It seems that without book some engines play even better

How do I get the opening classification in the notation? I have only "end of opening" here.

Hi Pham!
Feature request:
Sort games of a single engine, choosing from all engines list, ordered by white & black.
With 3000 games to check is still difficult to find records like: "all draws of this engine"
Thank you very much!
Best regards, Alex
