Instead,
would be interesting a match Carlsen - Stockfish running on TCEC hardware with same TC and rules (at least, no tactical blunders )
That is wishful thinking, but if you can find a sponsor that guarantee Carlsen at least 3.5 million for winning and 1.5 for losing, playing Odds like a pawn or 2 pawn Odds, I would not think that Carlsen would refuse it, and at standard time control I would put my Money on Carlsen. This is a small xample with GM Nakamura playing fast with the losing position of game 8 against Stockfish
Google, Amazon, Meta (to launch metaverse), Tesla (to launch Teslabot), Xiaomi and Samsung would have enough money and sponsoring interests to pay Carlsen to accept this match, like IBM in 1996 against Kasparov...
There are over 1,000 company or more in the World that can sponsor it, the problem is to get them to sponsor such event. This is a small xample with GM Nakamura playing fast with the losing position of game 8 against Stockfish the best that stockfish could do is draw with Black. Imagine what Carlsen can do at standard time control with a pawn odds
Note: How can GM Nakamura analyze the last game so fast

IMHO...once engines got to a certain strength (many years ago...) computer (engine) matches vs humans became uninteresting and irrelevant and no company would seriously consider them any more. A moment in time...passed, like your corner Blockbuster, phone booth or dot matrix printers.
Team Komodo vs random GM in odds matches...that's a different thing. Small stakes and largely for promotional purposes although Larry clearly enjoys trying to gauge via small tests, human abilities at various odds against his beast. The fringe who can still be found on forums like this can find some interest in that.

The only chance to see engine matches against the best players in chess is if some sponsor is interested enough to pay for it.
It will probably not happen but the chances are better than 0.
We only need one rich person who want enough to see it.
I guess I am going to donate 10,000,000 dollars for a competition of the best chess players against engines in case that I have 1,000,000,000 dollars in the future but I do not expect it to happen when people who have at least 1,000,000,000 dollars are not interested to donate money for this purpose.

It wouldn't be interesting at all the latest Stockfish would destroy Carlsen even if it were given a handicap of 30 minutes for the game. All you have to do to know what I'm saying is the truth is to analyse the games with the latest Stockfish to see how often these top human Grandmasters blunder.

Lets be realistic here, we all know that Stockfish, Komodo Dragon and any of the top 10 engines can beat Carlsen on an Old Pentium system, but how many of you still believe that the latest Stockfish can still beat Carlsen with 2 pawn odds using TCEC system at standard time control? If the match ever take place I put a bet of at least $5,000,00 on Unibet in favor of Carlsen.

I would like to see a match of 10 games of Blitz against GM Nihal today. Is this how GM Nepo turn his head after Blundering ?
At least he stayed at the board the whole time...
After the Blunders in game 8 stockfish could still draw against Carsen, but not after the blundering the Bishop in game 10 ?
I really doubt Carlsen couldn't win that position against a computer. It was very obvious during analysis by commentators such as Judith and Giri and Even Hikaru and Caruana ... when it comes to endgames where you need to play slow and precise moves that keep the advantage throughout ... Magnus Carlsen is on a completely different level. Of course many times engines will find quicker wins, but MC is human and he plays the endgame completely differently by just reducing the chances his opponent has while still keeping a solid advantage and slowly creating an overwhelming position. Even in game 11 where he did not play the engines first choice move with a rook lift ending the game very quickly ... he instead forced a totally winning rook endgame a pawn up. It really is impressive to see MC endgame technique in action and that goes a long way to explain why he is so consistently dominant for so long.

Carlsen does NOT blunder to often in World Chess Championship since he is always concentrated on the board and does not take to many chances, he might not always play the best move recommended by Stockfish which is not a blunder, but 95% of the time Carlsen play one of the best 3 moves, he Will Never Play 4th Best Move.
Note: Why don't you instead analyze the games of all previous World Chess Champions and see if they always select one of the best 3 moves recommended by Stockfish, or at least 75% of the time.
If engine fans here think that engines rated 3000+ ELO (up to 3900 ELO+ for some ratings lists) cannot easily beat Magnus rated 2900 ELO, what are we doing here???
What is the REAL Stockfish 14.1-dev ELO playing 2 hours / 40 moves + 1 hour / 20 moves + 15 mins + 30 secs / ALL?
