Carlsen can NOT accuse Aronian of Cheating, since he came out with a better Opening preparation

That does not appear to be good enough for Magnus.
He is cheating everyone else as he gifted Hans 3 points. That is simply not fair to them.

I remember when Chessbase in the early years of Playchess Online 1st introduce the webcam feature and then later removed it from their product.

Reminds me Hou Yifan at Gibraltar 2017:

Not to mention the very famous game 2 of Fischer vs. Spassky in 1972, where Fischer did not show:

Going a little off topic, a not show in football shocked Spain on 24th April, 2000, when F.C. Barcelona refused to play in his own stadium the second leg of the semifinal of Copa del Rey 1999/2000 after lose 3-0 in the first leg (be careful with the volume, the video has an annoying beep):

El Barcelona se ausenta de la Copa 1999/00

I remember those days: there were rumours for a week that they will not play and this is what finally happen. The common opinion was that forcing a team to travel more than 300 miles when you knew that you will not play was a shame.

Regards from Spain.

Are you talking about the game that Aronian is currently losing to Magnus?

Unless he has consulted with FIDE or the Tournament Director prior to doing this and given the 'this is the best way for you to proceed'...Magnus needs to be sanctions somehow.

I presume this tourney is FIDE rated...

Welll it does seem that MC is doubling down and is giving the finger to anyone who thinks cheating in some instances is not really that bad. He must have information from chess.com. Personally I think it is impossible to simply use chess engine moves comparison as a way to catch cheaters ... sure it will catch the primitive cheaters, but if a good player only needs to know which continuation is the better option once in a game to gain 200 ELO points. Most likely the best way to catch a cheater is to use non chess statistics on what the performance is compared to what would be normal historically. Of course you always need to flag the obvious primitive cheater using engine top 3 or 4 moves ... but that is not the smart way to cheat.

Maybe this will be good for chess and put more effort in stamping out cheating ... or to make it much more unacceptable than it seems to be to many people.

I expect no less than a draw between GM Pragg Vs GM Carlsen, but WAIT there is more, Carlsen will accuse GM Pragg of cheating
