Since Droidfish is a Dead Project which GUI is Best

Post by daniel71 »

Droidfish has been missing from the Playstore for years now and it was the best GUI despite some things I never could solve like getting 6 piece Tablebases to work. I was wondering what other GUIs are available for Android, I purchased Komodo Chess engines to run on Droidfish but even Komodo Chess stopped at 13 version. Looking for something similar to Droidfish or Fritz that Android engines could be used and Syzygy endgame tablebases. Thanks for your recommendations.

It may be missing from Playstore but it is not a dead project. It is easy to install it from https://f-droid.org/packages/org.petero.droidfish/ . I doubt there is a stronger package than Doridfish.

I have version 1.84 Droidfish its like at least 7 years old now, the link you gave is the same version 1.84. I'm looking for a Newer Program that still is supported by the author.
Thanks for the link, since I already have it on my account its still available to download even through its not on the Playstore.

I might be missing something, but I have just found a Droidfish Github repo with source codes of versions up to 1.87:

https://github.com/peterosterlund2/droidfish/tags

Maybe someone could compile the sources. Good luck!

Hello Ajedrecista, thank you for this version its newer than I found. Maybe it allows Tablebases to work on my phone and tablet. :D

According to the ChangeLog.txt version 1.84 is 2 years old. The only change after that is an updated Stockfish version. So it should not solve your problems with tablebases.
