I haven't seen much discussion on here about the latest version of Rebel, but from my tests it is quite impressive. In case you're not aware, it's a combined effort of two veterans of the CC industry — Ed Schroder and Chris Whittington. I played a bullet match of 100 games between the new Rebel and Shredder 13: 1 min + 1 sec per move, used the Shredder 13 book. The result was 74 wins for Rebel, 2 loses and 24 draws. I know it's a small sample but that implies Rebel is +300 ELO better than Shredder 13. That's amazing. I was also impressed at how aggressive and tactically aware Rebel is. In some of my tests it found tactics quicker than Stockfish. Anyway, it is a fun engine to use. You can get it from this link:
I can NOT find the executable file, since when I try to download it, it shoes an internet browser instead of a Zip file, can somebody please give me the direct link to where the executable file is found
When I click on this on my computer it come out as a browser not a Zip file
OK, I be nice.
.7z means that this program uses an usual compression format named 7z. To open it, you need a program named 7-zip file manager, that you can google, download for free, install and use to download/use the Rebel engine ( and yeah I know that I will regret this answer, to I'll add a caveat, that i won't take any responsibility for any harm done to your computer nor answer any further questions. )
At the moment maybe too many downloaders? Or too many tries in a row by yourself.. When I click on the link, it starts something but shows only a blank page. But a little before that it was okay. So maybe you have to wait till it is a little quieter or you are allowed a new try to download. Do you have 7-zip or WinRAR on your computer Jorge? Or WinZIP. If not, you can still unzip the file I think:
How do I unzip a 7Z file without WinZip?
If you are using Windows 7, 8 or 10, follow the following steps to open any zip files without WinZip or WinRAR.
Double click the zip file you wish to extract to open the file explorer.
At the top part of the explorer menu, find “Compressed folder tools” and click it.
Select the “extract” option that appears below it.
