So 8 engines have been relegates in Division 11.
This may be so, because new engines are sprouting like flowers in spring :)

Graham, I am having a question for this feature of your tourneys:
6 piece tablebases
How are those tablebases implemented in the tourney? Are they provided and engines use them -if they can-? Or does the tourney manager use them to adjudicate? Or something else?

I am asking, because the following is still unexplained (had this before):

I know and appreciate Dumb quite well. It's a very nice and original engine.
Its performance on these Amateur Series is about the same level as OliThink... but all my tests show that there should be a difference of 137 ELOs. ^^

Code: Select all

   # PLAYER : RATING ERROR POINTS PLAYED (%) W D L D(%) CFS(%)
   1 OliThink 5.11.4 : 0 ---- 2087.0 3047 68.5 1779 616 652 20.2 100
   2 Dumb 2.3 : -137 12 960.0 3047 31.5 652 616 1779 20.2 ---

White advantage = 22.34 +/- 6.04
Draw rate (equal opponents) = 22.30 % +/- 0.80
3047 matches played with exactly the same versions used in the tournament.

Engines can access Nalimov (5 piece), Gaviota tbs (5 piece), Scorpio egbbs (5 piece) and Syzygy (6 piece).
Gaviota tbs are used for adjudication purposes.

Thank you for this info.
Maybe you know which engines are actually using them in order to enhance their endgame?
Maybe the authors can tell?

Offhand, I have no idea, and I don't keep a record of them.
