Re: Is there anyone here that can ......
I believe to create a ctg that does not show preference, and where all moves have equal weights, changing all 1-0 and 0-1 to 0-0 in the games database may accomplish this. I am not able to log into the Windows environment yet, but after I finish my current work, I'll post more...

Ok, I have created a small book, nopriority (32 MB in size and 50 half moves) with no priority...all the moves are of equal weight. It Will Not Be A Strong Book, but rather one that plays many different variations. You can get it from the /chess/book/chessbase/ directory. Please see how to download it from here.JAMerolle wrote:Create a chessbase opening book (for me) which every book move in its tree has an = chance of being played? Even with the variety of play slider all the way to the left the chessbase books suit still lacks flexibility. Any help with a download link would be great. I am looking for a quality/strong opening book such as shredders book.

Variety slider all to the most left means minimum variety. Move it all the way to the right (and consider to switch off tournament book). Or maybe it was just a typo.JAMerolle wrote:Even with the variety of play slider all the way to the left the chessbase books suit still lacks flexibility.
A book created for bigger variety, by a special method of compiling the database it's based upon, is my Balanced-16.ctg.

Recommended book settings are normal, min. games = 3. This will not result in all moves having the same probability, but you will get much more variety than from typical books. Please note that it is a rather small generic book (but from the best 16,000 games I could find) intended for engine tests with same book for all, not a book for top performance against other books.

Thank you for that book, Franklin. I didn't ask for it but I shall use it. You also forced me to download the rather nice FTP client, Filezilla, something that I have always been too lazy to do until now.kingliveson wrote:Ok, I have created a small book, nopriority (32 MB in size and 50 half moves) with no priority...all the moves are of equal weight.
