Is there anyone here that can ......

Post by JAMerolle »

Create a chessbase opening book (for me) which every book move in its tree has an = chance of being played? Even with the variety of play slider all the way to the left the chessbase books suit still lacks flexibility. Any help with a download link would be great. I am looking for a quality/strong opening book such as shredders book.

Hi, give me the size you want the book and some other specifics, and I will help how I can.

That is a fairly easy thing to do. Why can't you just read the manual and do it? You sort of contradict yourself. You want all moves with
equal chance of play and you want the book to be strong.

May be a better question would have been how to build a book, ctg, abk...I am pretty familiar with the process and can lend a little help. But it is true you will not get a strong book that plays all the moves. A strong book plays selective moves that are known to have much more success. 1.f4, Bird's for example is not the best opening for white which of course depends on how black responds. But if you want a start at book making, take a look at http://www.frayerchess.com/

By the way, when am playing blitz with certain level skilled people, I like to play 1.f4, though lately I have settled for 1.d4 overall.

You are missing the point.

Instead of getting into useless chatter, pm me if you need help. I can even give you link to a strong book that I was working on. Using non-traditional approach--developed through an ECO system.

This is pretty easy to do.

1) Go to http://www.gladiators-chess.ru/downloads.php?cat_id=1 and download as many recent playchess engine vs. engine games as you can

2) Get rid of any games shorter or longer than some arbitrary value (I suggest 25 < game < 90 moves, and get rid of any other games you don't want

3) Keep this database of games, save it as eg. games.cbh

4) Copy all the games white won out into a new database called white.cbh

5) Copy all the games black won out into a new database called black.cbh

6) Create a book from games.cbh in chessbase (New Book, Import Games), this will import all games including drawn games

7) Use Fritz function "Add priority analysis" to add your white games (from white.cbh) to this new book as white priority

8) Use Fritz function "Add priority analysis" to add your black games (from black.cbh to this new book as back priority

9) Use the ctg book on FICS or ICC with Aquariumbookadapter if necessary

You're done.

What does CC failure mean. In this forum, CC is ambiguous.
