The pairings for 8 engines are different (and correct).
112 games should mean 28 games per cycle (without alternating colours).

I will upload 0.089 in one hour's time, though a 0.089 has been on my website for days.

Looks like you've lost 4 precious hours ;(

I will be back.

Matthias.

OK, I am back and don't need to upload.
The 5-day old version 0.089 on my website is up-to-date (labelled 0.88).
I rewrote the pairing algorithms in 0.088 and uploaded maybe too early.
What do we see in this pairing disaster ?

- after a GUI update, simulate whole tournament and check pairings, and other output files before running tournament.

That doesn't take long, but helps a lot.

Sorry for your lost time ;).

Matthias.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Great, Keep up the good work, Mathias, I will test it once the result table format is made neater, like the one in Arena.

To give you little more motivation, I might consider using ChessGUI in my edition 9 CCB tournaments. :)

A 4-cycle 8-engine RR with alternating colours is 56 games per cycle and 224 games total. Book moves are not played during a simulation.

With this setup, book lines will change every 56 games and pairings will be repeated every 56 games.

Is my engineer's mathematics sound  ?

In RR tournaments, only final table is readable, but still in ascii format and header is not yet formatted either :( .

I strongly recommend to every ChessGUI user to always simulate new tournament before launching it (if GUI was updated).

OK, I admit that I did not reserve space for logos in ChessGUI.
Official version 0.089 loads a bmp logo in window where engine parameters are edited. Jpg not yet supported.
Board in BigView has no logos yet.
Who has better proposal of where to place logos in main window ?
Is clock too small now ?

Will that self-correct?

Graham.

Something seems wrong !!

Matthias

I have made test run with the version 0.089 that I use here.

The pairings for 6 engines are different (and correct).
112 games should mean 28 games per cycle (without alternating colours).

I'll see if editing the tournament pairings so that they're correct will help. No harm trying.
As for where to make room for the logos, somewhere near the clock times would be good, as in Fritz and Arena.
Is it an easy task to set up the option to have evaluations scored from a White perspective or to change notation from g1f3 to Nf3?

Cheers, Graham.

Editing pairings shall help in near future but not now ;(.
Logos are implemented, so just test ;).
Option for score from white perspective will be in version 0.090.
g1f3 to Nf3 is easy for one move, not PV.

Best,
Matthias.
