11 hours 29 minutes

I like it certainly seems stronger that 2.1 the next 40/4 update will include Naum 2.2 64-bit 2CPU with 400+ games.

Currently there are a few games with Naum 2.2 at 40/4 here and a few 40/40 games here

For FRC there are reliable results (enough games) here

have fun with Naum 2.2

10 hours and 09 min.
Better than Shaum :D
I just test Naum 2.2 with test positions and I can say to you
that Naum 2.2 it´s a surprise engine. Not the best in tactics or
endgames, but it solves some positions that surprised me.

I beat both of you by a big margin. Here is the timestamp from my email.
8/16/2007 3:01:03 PM Eastern Daylight Time
8/16/2007 4:50:34 PM Eastern Daylight Time

That means I got mine in less than two hours.

Dr. and Tony, you both have me a bit confused here. Naum 2.2 has been out since August 1- which is pushing 3 weeks. You guys are making it sound like it just came out today. ????? :?

Naum 2.2 seems like it has tremendous potential. I say that because I noticed that its MP implementation is not good. This would make it seem like there is a lot of room for improvement with simply improving MP code.

In that case many engines have even more potential for improvement because they have no mp implementation.

Note that Naum is place 3 after rybka and zap based on cegt 40/120

http://www.husvankempen.de/nunn/40_120_ ... liste.html

I think that the smp implementation is good based on cegt 40/20

16 Naum 2.2 x64 4CPU 2937 25 26 384 48.7 % 2946 46.4 %
32 Naum 2.2 x64 2CPU 2880 16 16 984 52.3 % 2864 42.6 %
54 Naum 2.2 w32 1CPU 2827 25 25 453 54.0 % 2799 41.3 %

I think that it is impressive that Naum earns rating from more cpu.

For comparison Deep Fritz10 cannot do the same based on cegt 40/20

25 Deep Fritz 10 2CPU 2892 11 11 2270 55.1 % 2857 36.5 %
44 Deep Fritz 10 4CPU 2853 23 23 573 40.5 % 2920 34.6 %

You can see that 2 cpu are clearly better than 4 cpu for Fritz even after considering the statistical error.
