I was looking through some old stuff in my mom's house and I came upon a nice electronic wood board. It is a Saitek Galileo ... with Kasparov model written on it. It has inside it a huge module which when I pulled out says Leonardo 6Mhz written on it. Anyone know anything about this?
Obviously at 6Mhz it will play very poorly ... but is there a module that can play a decent game with it. It has written on it "Open Architecture" and it seems like the design was made in such a way so as to make it upgradeable. The board is really nice and I would love to get it working again if I could.
Here are some pix that I took with my mobile phone camera (not too clear I know).
Hala Majd,
A free hint for my dear friend.....
You can squeeze Steve B for a good amount of bucks selling him the device

Not really interested in selling it but it would be great if I could get a module that could have a PPC Fruit engine. What OS does this run on does anyone know? Would it be difficult to change some chips and get them to work on this nice board?
if you want to have fun i would advise to burn the D++ into this module.
you can download the eproms from my website and also see what is going on with the thing. the d++ or the little less speculative d+
was an experimental version from kaplan for the 8 bit machine that was never sold.
i have heard that there is a device driver as UCI engine to get the
saitek boards running as an engine under any UCI capable GUI
but i was unable to far to get this device driver and test it out.
maybe you are luckier. try google and you will see that there is
a device driver. i also put a posting about this in CCC a while ago.
