In the latest CCRL 40/4 list....Hiarcs Padeborn 2007 is the best 32 bit single engine !

I think that there is a mistake here and in fact it is Hiarcs Paderborn 2007 4CPU, the opponents are 4CPU engines

Yes, Shaun forgot to put 4CPU on the name and he will correct it

You know the old saying.. if something seems too good to be true, it usually is

Yes, like if you are making a major (and slightly exxagerated) request from someone via telephone, and he answers, for sure! right away! I'll personally take care of it!

What does it mean?

He was speaking to someone else in the room or on the other line, and didn't even hear what you said! and you have to start all over again!

Yes Hiarcs has always been good in single CPU ... it is also very strong on Palm OS ... wish they would make a native Pocket PC platform. It might be a good idea to completely re-write Hiarcs as a bitboard engine since it might get a huge boost in 64bit instructions. I wonder how this version compares to single CPU 2.3.2a Rybka 64bit. I couldn't find it on the list although I did see a Rybka single CPU version (not 2.3.2a) at 3022.

Even in case that this was correct you should remember that rybka was designed for 64 bits and not for 32 bits.

Being 3 elo better than the 32 bit version of rybka is clearly not enough to be number 1 for other engines.
