Perhaps a better question would be whether it can find 17...Kg8 after 17. Qg2, or do you have a line showing that this is significantly worse for black than 17. Nce2 would have been?

Looking closer, 17. Qg2 Kg8 18. Nce2 does look better.

Unfortunately i don't. Black is in a bad position. Even Toga II 1.4.2JD doesn't find good moves for black in this position so I have no chance. After 17.Qg2 Shredder 10 recommends 17...Kg8 18.Nce2 e5 19.Nf5 Bxf5 20.exf5 Qa5 21.Ka1 b3 22.cxb3 and black should better resign in this bad position. So even the engines don't know how to save black.
