Hash -o- meter
Moaaannnn!!!!!! I long for the days of Fritz 5.16 when there was a hash meter in the GUI that indicated when the hash was 'FULL'. Now wouldn't that just be ducky today? HOW many useless hash questions would be avoided at this forum then?

There are some GUIs, that can display the hash filling rate, like SCID, Arena and the Shredder GUI.Nimzovik wrote:Moaaannnn!!!!!! But not all engines allow the GUI, to show this info (e. g. Rybka)

A "full" hashtable is still useful, since new entries replace old ones!

Yes Rybka --No true node count-No indication of true hash use (That I know of) What next ? No true eval function? Just play program? Frustrating really.... Not to mention that it doesn't use more than 2 GB of ram.........

A full hash table might be good or it might be bad.Nimzovik wrote:Moaaannnn!!!!!! I long for the days of Fritz 5.16 when there was a hash meter in the GUI that indicated when the hash was 'FULL'. If it is full of useful entries, then it is a very good thing.

I think that the percentage of useful hash hits is a far, far more useful measure.
