Rybka update 3.07 and future goals

Post by Kirk »

This caught my attention as I often study old games with more than one engine running analysis. It is planned for a future release. Would that also mean on a quad you could have just two engines using two CPU's each?

parallel processing with several single-core engines

What's next:
We are going to start working on a 'serious' feature upgrade. We'll work into several (or all) of the following directions:

- IDEA improvement: more control over stages and move priorities, parallel processing with several single-core engines, displaying current analysis, saving analysis queue etc.

- Delayed analysis: integrate EPD processor into Aquarium, display & control the positions to be analyzed, manage source & destination files, evaluation import etc.

- Play mode enhancement: save current game when exiting, allow game adjourning, exclude observer engine, allow playing from any position. Possibly even merge Play and Sandbox.

- Learning features: detecting blunders in own/database games and using it in training, opening repertoire training, opening exploration courses etc.
